“It’s Groundhog Day for mortgage rates, as they have remained virtually flat for over two months,” said Freddie Mac’s chief economist Sam Khater on September 16.

“The holding pattern in rates reflects the markets’ view that the prospects for the economy have dimmed somewhat due to the rebound in new COVID cases,” he explained.

Locking in these low rates for buyers is key in their purchasing process. They are eager to buy a home while these rates are so low.

Just about 400,000 new residents have moved into Florida April 2020 and April 2021. And, according to the National Association of Realtors, close to 28% of the people relocating to Florida came from Texas and another 15% relocated from New York, with a little over 6% coming from California. This trend will not be slowing down any time soon!
